The Rubber Printing System (RPS) is the world’s first ink jet printer to successfully use non-contact marking technology to print curable inks on rubber. This specialized printer fully automates the marking process, streamlining production and eliminating marking mistakes. The RPS is used by tire and rubber manufacturers worldwide for reliable product identification.
Mistake-Proof Marking of Rubber Products
Automatic printing of date, time, and batch information eliminates mis-marked product, ensuring the right materials are used in final products. Manufacturers can identify and segregate off-spec product with more precision, reducing scrap rates.
- Bold colors makes product identification quick and easy
- Non-contact printing does not deform extrusion profiles
- Inks will not transfer to molds, yet do not affect rubber’s adhesion to other components
Inks for Uncured Rubber
The RPS uses specially-formulated rubber-based inks that cure along with the rubber product during vulcanizing.
- standard co-curable inks
- high-adhesion inks
- disappearing inks
TIRE COMPONENTS
All RPS inks are tested and approved by tire manufacturers worldwide for use on internal and external tire components including compound, tread, sidewall, and calendered cord fabrics. Inks do not transfer onto molds during vulcanizing, nor do they affect adhesion of rubber components to each other.
Inks for Cured Rubber
For printing on finished tires and rubber products, the RPS uses several specialty inks:
- bright pigmented inks
- water-washable inks
