A manufacturer needed a simple method of stamping a single message into their metal nameplates…
An aluminum manufacturer worked with Pannier Corporation to automated their billet marking process. They had been marking heat numbers on billets using a manual method.
Pannier visited the mill to understand the needs of the project. A Model 9200 stationary pneumatic hammer was chosen as the best model. Since the billets are cut into short lengths, more backup support was needed during marking, so a backup ram was recommended for the opposite side of the runout table.
Pannier supplied the marking system, backup ram, character type, and mounting stands for a complete installation.
